(Chronically) Low Cortisol and 'cluttered living'..

Subject line says it all :) Does anyone else see a correlation

between these in their own lives? My room is a God-Awful-Mess -

my " excuse " is that I locate things and remember locations visually,

therefore a " logically " (read abstract) organization system won't

work for me). But I'm wondering if another part is just that first

organizing things (especially those things that 'don't belong

anywhere') - or even just straightening things up (pupshing things

into neat piles in the corner, etc) is a psychological/emotional

stressor if nothing else, which the body in AF may just not want to

put up with that (even if it can).

Incidentally, my mother has said that clutter (my father at least

is *extraordinarly* organized) is rather common - and she can't see

how people can live in it. I wonder - is it on the rise, and could

that indicate that AF is getting more common (even in the lower stages)?

Well sounds like a good excuse to me! WHOOPS.. maybe that is me accepting ANY

reason for the awful clutter I live in! LOL

Abso-damn-lutely!! If I can't see it, I don't remember I even have

it.So I certainly cant find it. If I try to organize it, my

perfectionism kicks in and I am totally overwhelmed. Now, just

thinking about getting organized overwhelms me. When I get bouts of

energy I try, but my organization never lasts because I get too tired

again to keep it up. Its one of those situations where I cant win for

losing. I need a handmaiden or a butler, lol!

A huge part of my problem is the perfectionist thing. If I can't do it all

and do it right, then why bother? The Fly Lady program is great for

perfectionsits but I don't have the energy to follow through right now. She

focuses on small steps and the fact that even if you can't do everything

doing a small thing here and there adds up.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy

enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright

LOL, Cherie,

I tried Fly Lady but I got too hung up on the damn binder and it all

fell apart and that was before my crash.

Touche'. It sounded like a good idea but became a bunch of spam for me. It

took me longer to read the email and figure out exactly what she was trying

to say then to just get up off my rump and go shine my sink, lol. Plus it

seemed more geared to women who are stay-at-home moms. I couldn't find much

that applied to how my life is structured.

Flylady irritated the CRAP out of me! If I wanted someone to nag me, I

would have a hubby. LOL
