Guest guest
My point is that it can be done because our previous DAN Dr. was an insurance provider. Their are Dr.'s who practice integrative medicine that take insurance and never have their licenses revoked. Chelation can be covered by insurance because a partial part of our monthly chelation is covered by our insurance as well as a small amount of our B-12 shots. We could not get our HBOT covered, however, we bought our own chamber and then wrote that expense off on our taxes and received a big chunk of it back. Guest guest
Maybe if these dan doctors lowered the fees they would get more clients. It's no wonder the insurance companies do not cover the majority of these physicians. Their fees are astronomical and many do not have the certification as specialized physicianas. Do Board Certified Allergists charge 250 to 500 dollars per visit for a general visit that does not include shots or skin testing??? Did these physicians go to a 4 year medical school and then a fellowship for an additional 3-4 years? Did these doctors take a licenced exam such as a Board Certified Allergist? Now lets look at a pediatric dentist who performs procedures. They spend alot of time on these patients and actually perform surgery for less than a dan doctor. It's also ludicrous how a dan doctor can charge 250.00 a visit to just prescribe an antidepresent drug. Then they make you return quarterly for additional scripts. Even a board certified psychiatrist does not charge those fees once the patient has had a consultation, yet a board certified psychiatrist has gone through more training than most of these dan doctors. Unless these Dan doctors lower their fees and can show some substancial amount of certification as may of our specialists such as neurologists, psychiatrists, gastroenterologists, allergists, etc, the insurance companies are not going to cover these services. It is up to these doctors to lower their fees and offer competitive rates. There is also a lack of clinical data to support the treatments that these dan doctors follow. To: sList Sent: Tuesday, February 21, 2012 7:22 PM Subject: Re: was: (denise's list) Dr. Udell, now: DAN doctors in general , My point was that because they prescribe unconventional treatments, it would be unrealistic if they became insurance providers because they can get in a lot of trouble. Many who were brought under scrutiny have had their license revoked. I guess I was trying to say this in a roundabout way that wouldn't get anyone in trouble. "Hypothetically", would insurance cover a doctor who is prescribing chelation, hbot, mb12 injections? How do they treat doctors who are openly against vaccinations? What happens when the spot light is on one who does? These are some serious questions with serious ramifications. > > > > I totally agree.
