sulfur foods questions

So I'm finally starting the sulfur foods exclusion trial. It's taken

me awhile to get started but it's difficult when it's not your own

home or your own kitchen.

Anyway, when I was pulling the exclude/ok lists together I realized

that I had no idea where nuts fell. After searching the archives, I

think I understand that:

-nuts and nut flours are generally ok (ie, non-sulfury)

-peanuts are a legume and may be sulfury and/or allergic

-cashews may have some other problem

Does that sound right? I'm afraid I didn't understand what the

problem with cashews is... can anyone explain it?

Dumb question - what do sulfur-avoiding folks do for salad dressing?

I've always used ranch or other creamy dressing, and can't stand a

traditional Italian dressing. So I have these allowable salad foods

and no idea what to have with them. Any suggestions?

Right now I feel really awful. Really, really awful. But I expect

that is the caffeine withdrawal. I didn't see anything banning black

tea, but I know I have adrenal problems and caffeine is supposed to be

bad for the adrenals, so I decided to just bite the bullet and go

through the withdrawal. You would not think that just one cup (ok,

14oz mug) of coffee per day could cause this much trouble. I never

have soda and only very, very rarely have black tea, so it's just that

one mug a day that I have to give up. But I do feel awful... grrh.
