Guest guest
Today is a great day for me, I just had the last of amalgam removed from a tooth that had a crown, after months of dental work. My Dentist says that he doesn't think there is amalgam under the other crown. I have my DMSA ready to go, but I wonder if he can tell for sure with the x-ray. If I can wait till January, my dental insurance will cover half, but right now, I've pretty much gone to the limit. I'm sure the high road is to have the crown redone, but can an x-ray be reliable enough to trust that it doesn't have amalgam? I'm sure that if there's any build-up under it, it would be amalgam, but I guess sometimes, they just grind a tooth down and put a crown on it. I'm sure the records are gone. Thanks for the help, Patt
