Burning throat/esophagus

Can I please get some help with this one because it scared me terribly.

Last night I woke around 3 AM to take 2 capsules of DMSA/ALA 16 mg total. I

swallowed them together and drank a full 8 0z of water.

As I was falling back to sleep I realized the capsules were somewhat " stuck "

just beyond my throat area. While I was telling myself I need to get more

water...I fell back asleep. 20 minutes later I woke up to what felt like an

explosion in my chest/esophagus.

Intense burning, difficulty breathing, and coughing sent me to the kitchen where

I tried to drink water and eat crackers...I vomited. I waited for about 5

minutes with this intense burning and prayed for it to stop. Finally it began

subsiding after heaving some phlem.

I coughed until morning everytime I took a deep breath and I have alot of mucus

this morning as well as a hoarse voice.

I called my Dr. and he said to take antacid as needed. Well, I am scared this

may do permanent damage....My Dr told me ALA was no stronger than

vinegar....very mild..so I am perplexed.

This has only happened once before when I ate some HOT HOT red pepper oil, that

had been sitting too long in a resturaunt. and while I was chelating.

Also...I did keep to my dosage schedule this morning and nothing has happened

since.
