Guest guest
Sue You'll see why I put a link in, as soon as you read the article. There isn't enough space here for me to explain it, but, frankly, I couldn't have told you all these steps. Sheesh, it's a lot to remember and is probably the reason why a lot of doctors don't even measure it, but it is much more precise and definitive. http://www.umm.edu/ency/article/003572.htm Re: Re: New to Group Hi ,Is the Schilling Test a blood test any lab can do?Haven’t heard of that one...Sue SueThe problem here with looking only at the diet is this----If a person has autoimmune antibodies to their Intrinsic Factor in the gut, they may have a condition known as Pernicious Anemia. This means that, even though they are taking in enormous amts of the B 12. they are not processing or absorbing any of it, and never will again, more than likely. Celiac Disease is also very suggestive of this. There is blood testing for both of these conditions, i.e., antibodies. The Schilling Test is the most indicative of a B12 deficiency, as the B12 Serum Test simply isn't very showing on this one, in some people. Celiac has specific antibodies testing, and you can't consume grains, particularly wheat, rye, spelt, so on.

I have not had an official diagnosis yet. On October 18, 2006 I had an abnormal mammogram and ultrasound. The radiologist said a biopsy would probably be recommended. The sticulated nodule was a Level 4. Both breast are strongly suggestive of breast carcinoma. This is a new thing for me. Guest guest
I learned that it helped to rearrange my thinking when it came to buffets. I started thinking of it as I was paying for the variety, not the amount, and it made it make more sense. Also, most of the Chinese places also sell " To Go' by the lb. I found that if I get a to go box, get my stuff, and get it weighed and paid for, it is usually much cheaper in the long run. I mean, a meal is 7.95, but to go is 2.99 per lb, or even with the seafood, it's 4.50 a lb, and of course, I can't eat even close to a pound, and this way, I can take it when I go to. it's a great way for a win-win situation. Re: New to group Hehe " money's worth " at a buffet is a concept I've had to work on. I've gone to a couple of buffets, chinese I think, since surgery. I haven't gotten my money's worth in the sense that I eat only one plate instead of three (really four since it was always overflowing). But I make sure I eat the most expensive seafood and vegetables on that one plate. Besides, if the cost is $6-$10 that's not such an expensive meal for a single plate anyway. The tip is less, it's quicker and easier to get your food, etc. Buffets are still worth it, just in a different way. I'll admit it's tough to get away from quantity = value. I'm not sure what I'd do in a place like Vegas or other buffet central location though. Guest guest
I don't do the buffet's anymore because I don't feel like I will be getting my money's worth anymore and I just don't need the temptation. Lhsh@... American by birth, Saved by the grace of God. Re: Re: New to group The unfortunate thing about buffets is the people you are with consider it their only meal of the day. For a person who needs to eat lots of small meals a day - it can be a problem. I usually take a big purse and make a sandwich or something. I at least I have a snack for later.... Guest guest
Hi all, When I joined this group I was sent an e-mail with lots of info about adrenals. Somehow that e-mail got deleted, probably operator error. And I wondered if one of you could send it to me again. My e-mail address is lynnkrt2@.... Thanks. Trying to learn about all of this. I had a total thyroidectomy about 40 years ago. I am taking Armour Thyroid but am still hypo. I just got my CanaryClub saliva test results back and trying to understand them. Guest guest
>How does one go about weaning off of T3? >Wha are safe increments in reduction? I'm taking 25 mcg now but I did reduce by 12.5 yesterday. Was that too much? Does anyone have a protocol? It depends why you are weaning off and what you are going to. If you are dropping T3 and going onto Natural then this sort of process can work well http://thyroid-rt3.com/swapping.htm If you are dropping T3 levels because you are suddenly on too much because you cleared then you can drastically drop the dose and then build up again as the reserves clear and you become hyper. I dropped to 1/4 of the dose I had been on and built back to half dose over a week when my RT3 resistance cleared. If you think RT3 was caused by cortisol or ferritin and you have sorted out the toot cause and want to see if you can come off all thyroid treatment then I would do a VERY slow taper, maybe 5mcg a week, 12.5 at the most. It might be worth staying on each dropped dose for 2 weeks without dropping more. >My B/P is running high and so are temps. I am eating like a horse to stave off the heartburn I'm having. That sounds like you are hyper, drop dose by half and build up again if you get hypo Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com
