Guest guest
All is well! We have had some lazy days in a sort of mini-vacation over Easter. Short trips, just over the day, to places around here, like the Zoo for instance, and one of our neighboring cities to the north (Höör, http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/80/Hoeoer-Station.jpg ), that we had passed many times before, but never visited. Lovely little place!s MS is basically behaving well, too. We were at the regular check-up with the neuro yesterday, and she borrowed a cooling vest (is that the name in English?). She'll be able keep it for a few weeks, so that she can decide if it is helpful for her or not. The neuro that had supposedly quit, was back again, just like the nurse that quit last year, and yet was still there at the next visit... We joked that this clinic must be something of a medical Hotel California ("yes, you can check out at any time you like, but you can never leave"...). The visit went well however, this is the neuro has been less than enthusiastic about before, but yesterday he was definitely at his best, and in a good mood too, so no complaints there (lets just hope the good mood stays...).love/Reb>> Has anyone heard from Reb? Guest guest
Happy to hear you 2 are okay! Yes, cooling vest is the correct word. They can be very helpful; a lifesaver for many. Is it hot there now? It has gotten up to nearly 80 degrees F here yesterday, and the same for today and tomorrow. 80 is already too hot for me. Especially with it being only April. I hope it is not a sign of what's to come--a blazing hot summer. That totally zaps the energy outta me, as I'm sure it does for most of us.Hotel California! lol. Didn't know you'd know that song, Reb. What an apt description of the clinic! Please say hello and send my love to .hugs to you both,KateTo: MSersLife Sent: Wed, April 27, 2011 6:27:09 AMSubject: Re: Where is Reb?? / Right here ;-) All is well! Guest guest
Happy to hear from you /Reb.. Even better to know that 's Monster is behaving well too.. And the cooling vest, I sure hope it works well for her. My son tells me that there is a young gal who drag races with him at some of the different Chrysler Classic meets he attends, that has MS.. and still climbs in that car and drives (I can't even go to watch during daylight hours, it would be too much heat for me).. But this girl does so with the help of a cooling vest.. and they've rigged something for her to wear over her head but under the helmet to keep her head cool as well... and she gets through the whole day in that hot sun on the even hotter asphalt (though she may steer clear of the asphalt until time to climb into the car) with the help of those two pieces... I guess my point is.. that if these cooling devices work that well for the gal in the race car.. one would assume that they should work pretty good for us too.. so there's a good chance that it will help too.
