Guest guest
I'm following Andy's protocol for chelation. I've not posted for awhile, but I've been here, chelating away. Anyway, I've begun to put two and two together that a thyroid problem could be responsible for many symptoms I have. My doc is not necessarily an advocate of what I'm doing with respect to mercury poisoning, but I respect that he's actually taken the time to read Andy's book, thinks that there is merit there, and is giving me lots of rope and support to try things, even things he doesn't necessarily agree with. He's prescribing the DMSA for me and has gone out on a limb to help me try some other things I've wanted to pursue. So I'm not sure what to think about his read of my thyroid test. He says that there's no way he'd prescribe a thyroid supplement for me with these results. He says that it's actually good for the TSH level to be low. In my lack of brain cylinders, have I missed that in Andy's materials or would Andy/you all disagree with what he says about that? Could you please give me your read(s) on this test? By the way, I'm going out of town for a week, so I won't be able to respond to responses I get for awhile, but please respond anyway. I'll look forward to coming home, hopefully, to a pile of helpful opinions. Thanks for your help! (test results below) Ferritin: 24 (In Range) Ref. Range is 10-232 ng/mL T-4, Free: 1.0 (In Range) Ref. Range is 0.8-1.8 ng/dL TSH: 1.38 (In Range) Ref. Range for my age is 0.40-5.50 mIU/L Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies: <10 (In Range) Ref. Range is <35 IU/mL T3, Free: 298 (In Range) Ref. Range is 230-420 pg/dL
Guest guest
I had " normal " results too on thyroid but I had ALL the symptoms. My doc said this could indicate I have a pituitary problem. I believe Andy says the same in his book. It's called secondary hypothyroidism or something like that. I've been on Armour now for 3 1/2 months. I'm seeing some progress but I think I need to be on a higher dose. My doc is increasing it very slowly which Andy also says can delay symptom relief. So I increase higher myself. Anyway, if you have a doc that strictly treats test results, you're out of luck.

TK--- the range for TSH is read low to high, low being better but tsh is not the indicator of choice for diagnosing thyroid problems - free and total T3 & T4 are.
