Guest guest
I have been working on getting my ferritin up - was about 10 and recently up to 28 and have been trying to take a little T3 at the same time. I know people say you won't be able to tolerate T3 until Ferritin is at least 50, but I haven't had the classic T3 intolerance symptoms people talk about (e.g., anxiety). However, I am having frequent headaches (even waking up with them, which is unusual for me). Could it be related to the T3, or should I look elsewhere? Thanks. p.s., My T3/RT3 ratio is around 7. Guest guest
Wow - I'd love to hear more about the logic behind that. Carrot juice would spike my blood sugar, so that's out, but I'd still love to hear the particulars on the hypothesized mechanism by which T3 would trigger toxic colon. Did the carrot juice work for you? > > > > I have been working on getting my ferritin up - was about 10 and recently up to 28 and have been trying to take a little T3 at the same time. Guest guest
Harry, Did the headaches subside eventually? And level out on the T3? How are you doing with your t3 protocol now? I'm curious as to how people have improved! Thanks............Joan (Just did a 28 day Candida cleanse, and have done coffee enemas, so the colon is in decent shape, I think). Subject: Re: Can T3 Cause Headache/Migraine?To: RT3_T3 Date: Friday, June 4, 2010, 9:54 PM Syd....I got lots of headaches...from T3 and thyroid hormone increases in general...my biochemist friend beleives the symptom is caused by a toxic colon....and recommends raw carrot juice. >> I have been working on getting my ferritin up - was about 10 and recently up to 28 and have been trying to take a little T3 at the same time. Guest guest
I think what actually happens is that when you start taking t3 (or any thyroid meds for that matter) your OWN thyroid hormones go lower and you have to keep increasing to play catch up and then finally get even higher than what your body was making in the first place. In the process, you can get headaches if you don't take enough t3 to replace what your body was already making. Make sense? This has happened to me a LOT. It IS the t3 causing the headache, but not for the reasons that most people think, like their body is rejecting it or something. I think it depends how quickly a person's body " compensates " by shutting down their own thyroid production. Mine shuts down quickly and raising t3 is what makes the headaches go away. I know at least one other person with this same issue. Got terrible headaches when starting thyroid meds, so doubled the dose and the headaches disappeared in a day! I'm not suggesting everyone just double their dose if they get a headaches, I'm suggesting that if your iron and adrenals are supported, then SOME people need to raise faster than others due to fast compensation. Guest guest
Very interesting hypothesis and makes sense to me. I will try this and post back. First I need to rule out a couple other things and will then try adding the T3 back in. Thanks! > > > > > > I have been working on getting my ferritin up - was about 10 and recently up to 28 and have been trying to take a little T3 at the same time.
