Guest guest
Hi Tasha. I prefer to use a glass jar to ferment and store the yogurt, rather than the plastic container that was included with my Yogourmet Multi Machine. I heat the milk in a stainless steel pot. In both cases, I am trying to use inert materials that won't leach into the yogurt. I don't think there is any reason you could not use a metal pot to make your yogurt. Personally, I prefer not to use aluminum pots, because there is some controversy about whether such cookware affects brain chemistry. My stainless steel pots have aluminum on the exterior, to conduct heat more efficiently, but the interiors of these pots are all made of stainless steel. Hope this helps. I am going to try yogurt again, had to stop some time ago as it was causing too much mucus. Is it okay to make it in a metal/aluminum (I think) pot or does it need to be glass? I am going to use the heating pad method. Thanks! Tasha
