Guest guest
Just a note- the last I heard, Castle Hills only operates a Rescue Box and first responds to EMS runs in their city limits. I believe they contract out to San FD/EMS for the transport unit. So, this isn't really a charge for calling 911 (since it only applies to EMS), rather they're simply charging an aid fee since they're not transporting (and subsequently can't bill an insurance company). That practice is not really different than any other EMS agency that charges a aid-only fee....right? Guest guest
Right. Now, I wonder if it will cut down on calls? I have friends with SAFD in that district and relatives who live in Castle Hills. I going to keep a watch on how this " new " approach is working. > > >Subject: Thanks, 911 -- Do You Take Visa? - Texas > >Date: Sunday, February 22, 2009, 11:54 AM > > > > >#yiv1243523009 v\:* {} > > >#yiv1243523009 v\:* { >} > > > > > > >http://www.emsnetwo rk.org/artman2/ publish/article_ 35780.shtml > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Slight correction...it is no different than any other first responder who charges for first responding...except they won't charge the first time they come out to see you. Guest guest
The actual ordinance does not mention 911 calls...just billing for runs: http://cityofcastlehills.com/DocsDownloads/Ord%201005_Chap%2011%20FD%20Fees.pdf ________________________________ From: texasems-l on behalf of THEDUDMAN@...
