Guest guest
: " Do you have a doctor writing the prescription and if so what does he/she say? " No, I started it on my own. " He told me not to take any after 4 pm or I would have trouble sleeping (not a problem for me but it is for many others). " I tried this and was up for a couple nights. I usually have no problems falling asleep. Then I tried 2.5 mg at bedtime, and I slept fine, although I am waking up in the middle of the night after it wears off. Maybe this would change if I was dosing high in the a.m....I don't know. Val on NTH-Adrenals says that ACTH lowers when you start taking HC. This can lower your cortisol making it so low at night that you can't sleep. In time, this will change as your adrenals build some reserves. " It sounds like you may need to investigate other methods or medications to help with anxiety and feeling cold (the cold part is probably thyroid). " I do need to start thyroid support, but I am seeing a good doctor for that next week, or the week after. I knew that I would have to start HC before Armour and I am so tired of this fatigue that I thought I would get that in place, so I can start Armour right after seeing him. The anxiety is new, ever since my 2nd day on HC. It goes away after I take the HC. I think it is a low cortisol symptom, but I am not sure... Did you get any side affects starting 20 mg HC in one day? I was trying to ease into it 2.5 mg at a time following Val's instructions on the STTM board, but it just isn't working. I am up to 15 mg a day, but it does feel like enough. Thanks, Olif
Guest guest
I will look at the article. Thanks, Russ. I am not on Armour yet, but I know I need it. My free's were in the low normal range. I ended up dosing 20 mg HC according to 's schedule, and I am feeling so much better! I am no longer having low cortisol symptoms in between doses. I also don't need the nighttime dose!
