Guest guest
Venofer is sold to pharmacies in " cases " of 10. Is it possible that you are to PURCHASE a case of 10, but may not need all 10 ADMINISTERED? If this is the issue, shop around for a pharmacy that will sell one vial at a time, that's what I had to do, and it took a lot of calling around to find one, too. Some pharmacies don't want to break up the 10-case. A dear friend of mine could not find a cooperative pharmacy and had to buy the 10-case; she needed only 5 IVs. OK, if Dr. really does want you to get 10 IVs...everyone varies in how much their ferritin will go up with an IV. The most sensible thing to do is test along the way. I usually go up 30 points per IV, so yes, 10 sounds like a lot. I would get three, wait a week, then test to see how far I'd gotten. > > My MD recommends 10 doses of 100mg of Venofer IV. My ferritin is 31 and I don't have the rest of the labs yet. > I think 10 doses is too much and suggested MAYBE 5 the most before testing. Can anyone have any imput to this and amount because I see that some people get there ferritin up with just a couple of doses. > > Thanks > Christie >
