The fire continues to burn, and will be allowed to burn out as any offensive actions would result in a negative outcome. The evacuation area has been extended to University Blvd. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a monitoring plane on the scene taking air samples to determine toxicity of the plume. Texas Task Force 1 is responding with air monitoring equipment to assist College Station Fire Department with monitoring at street level. The evacuation radius may be reduced based on the results of the air sample. Highway 21 is closed from HWY-47 to FM-2818. A shelter has been opened at the Arena with contingency plans being developed for over flow. There are approximately 800 evacuees, with 60 individuals that have medical special needs at the Arena at this time. There are 86,000 citizens estimated in the evacuation zone. The Baptist Child and Family Services (BCFS) Medical Special Needs Shelter Team has been activated to support shelter operations. Materials that are in the El Dorado Chemical Plant as follows: Potassium Chloride 241 tons Ammonium Sulfate 31 tons Sulfa Magnesium 30 tones Diammonium Phosphate 140 tons Ammonium Nitrate 557 tons Copper Zinc 4000lbs 26% zinc 11000 lbs Other miscellaneous chemical with unknown quantities. Responding agencies are: Fire Department, College Station Fire Department, Brazos County Precinct 4 VFD, Brazos County Health, Brazos County SO, Brazos County Constables, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), 6th CST, EPA, /College Station Emergency Operations Center and Texas Task Force 1, Baptist Child & Family Services, The Salvation Army, American Red Cross.
