Hi All,

Can someone inform me of the best form zinc?

Is it Zinc Picolinate? Zinc Chelate?

Products are not well marked. I have one that says it is 50mg of Zinc Picolinate

(which contains 19% Elemental Zinc which equals 9.5mg Elemental zinc).

When Andy suggests to take 50-100mg of zinc does he mean Elemental or a Chelated

version (like Zinc Picolinate or Zinc Chelate or a better version)?

I have another product that says 15mg of Zinc Chelate.

I'm really confused - can someone clarify please?

Thanks,

Dean

I don't think the form is critical. When I first took zinc, I

only tolerated the picolinate form. I think whatever a person

tolerates is fine.

That's odd labeling. Most of the mineral supps I am looking at

here indicate the amount of elemental zinc and then say in

parentheses what form it is.

For example " iron (as iron glycinate) 29 mg " means you are getting

29 mg elemental iron in the form of iron glycinate.

I think he means 50-100 mg of elemental zinc.

I avoid the " chelate " forms because I don't really understand

what they are.
