The 2008 National Championship team from MedStar Fort Worth will again be competing for the top honors. The Valsalva Bowl is a fast-paced quiz contest, loosely based on the old GE College Bowl television quiz show of the 1960's. In the Valsalva Bowl, teams of three EMS personnel will compete in a game of skill, knowledge, speed, and luck. Members must be ECA, EMT, EMT-intermediate, paramedic, nurse or physician, licensed in Texas and involved in Texas EMS. The state competition will be held November 22nd in the Omni Fort Worth Hotel, 7:30 Sunday evening. Runners up receive $50.00 cash prizes, while first place winners will receive trophies, a $100 cash prize and a chance to compete against top teams from other states the next afternoon in the National Valsalva Bowl Championship.
