I highlighted my hair so it was more of a bleach than a dye. I can tell you

though I am in my second trimester, just barely, and my hair has taken on a new

texture and not one I particularly like. This happened even before I

highlighted my hair. They say dying the hair makes it softer but that is hear

say. Just my two cents!

Most suggest waiting after the 12 week. I not only waited til after the 12

week (with the last one and will wait til after the 12th on this one) but would

only have my hair brush colored so that the coloring would not come in contact

with the scalp. Following that, then my stylist would foil lighten my hair and

come close to but not directly in contact with the scalp.

Since we knew we were going to TTC in April, one week before expected ovulation

( I had been charting for 5+ months so even though I'm odd I was able to see a

trend), I had my hair colored back to as close as my natural color as possible.

Ladies,

I know this isn't as serious as some of the topics we bring up here, but I was

wondering...

Has anyone died their hair while pregnant? If so, what did you use? My

doctor said it should be okay after you are through the first trimester, but if

I did it I would feel better using something that someone else did.

Thank you,

Annette Levitt

I have my hair dyed every 4 to 5 weeks. My doctor said it's okay, so

my hairdresser just uses the same stuff as before. Don't really know

what it is.

Oh Lord....not color my hair?!?!? lol In neither of my pregnancies

did I abstain from coloring my hair for any period of time. No way,

no how! I color mine about every 4-6 weeks as needed. Everyone is

different though. :o)

Oh NO. I am so sorry. I tell my husband I am going to buy a RED wig and shave my head..Hair makes me nuts. I can say this with a straight face, as I am apparently losing my hair to the meds I am taking!!
