Guest guest Posted November 14, 2008 Report Share Posted November 14, 2008 I forget who asked about the details of the 6 min walk, it may have been Jane in answer to your response, the docs are also looking at the pft's, and my height and blood type the transplant doc told me about the issues with my height and blood type in May, he suggested that I list at that time height 4' 11" blood type O+ a short donor is needed so the lung will fit my chest cavity although O+ is a universal blood donor, it is not a universal organ recipient other issues: people tend to heal better when the rest of the body is in good health; to avoid damage to other organs while waiting for the transplant i did order "Taking Flight" by Joann Schum--waiting for it to come--someone on the board recommended it has anyone read "the Lung Transplantation Book" by Couture or "I Call My New Lung Tina" by Shirley Jewett?
