Guest guest Posted August 16, 2008 Report Share Posted August 16, 2008 I just had a nightmare of problems with Internet Explorer (IE) and Yahoo. I believe it all started when I installed microsoft silverlight to watch some of the olympics online. When Yahoo was my home page IE would just hang on startup. When I changed my home page to be a blank page it would start up fine. I disabled all activeX controls and it was OK. I don't know what the real problem was but was able to get around the symptoms by keeping the activeX controls disabled. I use Firefox as my defaut browser but was using IE to watch some of the olympics. I believe that there was a problem between Flash and Silverlight that corrupted some file on my system. With all the problems people have been having with Yahoo I thought I'd post this as it was really trashing my system.
