Re: UC & Mesalamine legality

I too have great concerns about this as I am trying to implment the diet but

cannot get off of the enemas and fear that they may be sabotaging my efforts.

I'm going to try to boost my pred (ugh) and cut the enemas. Maybe someone can

offer better advise.

They have a whole bunch of stuff that I'm sure is not legal, including xanthan

gum. I've gone back to the intro diet the past couple of days, but wondered if

I should try the Mesalamine Enemas since they worked quickly for me pre-SCD.

I can't really speak to the legality of the enemas but I know that in my case I

used them to help me get off the prednisone and then weened off of the Rowasa

slowly with the help of the diet. It didn't seem to have a bad effect on my

system. They definitely helped me heal faster.
