we did a first on saturday

went to visit my daughter, son in law and grandson in New York on Saturday

used the helios on the drive up

used the marathon on the drive home

jerry put the concentrator on the backseat, in a seat belt, and we used it when we got to my daughter's apartment

it worked out very well

thanks for the idea everybody

my son-in-law, the chef, made a fabulous dinner

my grandson is adorable

and my daughter is my daughter, upset that Davin stopped eating-- he used to "inhale" his food, now he is past 2, and all of a sudden, he doesn't like anything, and doesn't want to eat--this is new for her

he might be teething, they can see the molars trying to come in

he also had a cold last week

they only reason i went was because i lived with Jerry's cold for a couple of weeks

maybe Davin's cold symptoms were related to the new teeth

So happy to hear that. If you decide to take a long trip (more than

overnight), your oxygen supplier can put a portable reservoir in your

car so you'll be able to refill your helios and marathon when needed.

The reservoir rides comfortably strapped in by a seat belt. They can put

either a 25 pound or a 50 pound reservoir. By comparsion, your reservoir

at home is likely a 100 pound unit although those in homes vary from 75

to 144 pounds. Note, these weights are the weight of the oxygen, not the

reservoir. A 25 pound reservoir filled weighs about 50 pounds. For the

other sizes you can add 40-70 pounds for the reservoir itself.

I keep a 25 pound reservoir in my van as I found one barely used for

$225. I generally get a 50 pound reservoir from my supplier for long

trips since I use liquid indoors as well, instead of a concentrator.

A 25 pound reservoir used just for refilling your portables will fill

your Marathon twice a day and last 4 days. It would fill it once per day

and last 6 days. A 50 pound reservoir used just for refilling your

portables would last almost but not quite twice as long.

I don't know your vehicle so don't know if you'd have to lift the

reservoir out to refill it or not. My 25 pound unit is in the back seat

of my van and I can refill without taking it out. However, I have to

remove a 50 pound unit to refill. Now if it was in the back of the van

instead of the seat it would work, but I have my chair lift there.
