Hi Charlie, I think it's best to start ALA as soon as your body says that you can because the ALA is what will ultimately cure you. The important thing is to start with a small dose. Seeing as you are sensitive, starting with 5 or 6 mg per dose is a reasonable thing to try. If your body is not ready for ALA yet it will tell you! and then all you do is stop and finish the round with DMSA or at least take a few doses of DMSA beyond the last ALA dose. And starting up the next round on the 4th day off when you're starting to have trouble with symptoms sounds like a reasonable thing to do too. But, don't be too anxious to increase doses. Andy says once you have found a dose that is comfortable chelate away for a couple of months before raising the dose. I had to chelate for over a year at 18 mg DMPS before I could increase it to 25 mg. Be sure to take the recommended amounts of vitamin C, Mg, zinc, etc. Take care > > > > > > > Thanks . > > I haave started another rpund at 18.75mg. I am now feeling a bit > better.
