I’m not sure if my predecessor ( Gilmour) introduced us via e-mail last month, but my name is Ben Kaufman and I’m the new Director of Programs and Community Outreach here at OAR. I’m reaching out to you because last week, we publicly released easy-to-read summaries for many of the studies that OAR has funded since our inaugural grant competition in 2002. The research covers a range of content areas related to autism (early diagnosis, education, adolescence, transition to adulthood, etc.) and each summary includes results, implications, and practical relevance of a particular study. We hope that these summaries help make what can often be complex research more understandable for parents, educators, and professionals. If you’re interested, please visit or direct others who might benefit from learning about this research to: http://www.researchautism.org/professionals/funded/index.asp. Studies are organized by the year they were funded, and those with available summaries have a “summary†link beneath the title. I’ve also attached our full press release, which contains more detailed information. Thanks and take care, Ben Kaufman, MSWDirector, Programs and Community OutreachOrganization for Autism Research2000 North 14th Street, Suite 710Arlington, Virginia 22201(703)243-9762bkaufman@...www.researchautism.org
