Guest guest
Hi there,Lab results 8 months ago - before starting any thyroid or adrenal support:Free T4 1.6ng/dl (0.7-2.5ng/dl)Free T3 3.3pg/ml (2.5-6.5 pg/ml)TSH 1uU/ml (0.5-3.0 uU/ml)No ferritin doneSaliva results showed mild adrenal fatigue, thus I first started ashwaganda and licorice for 4 months, but no stable temps, so I moved up to isocort.Lab results 4 months ago (before starting isocort, but after being on ashwaganda and licorice):Free T3 3.5 (2.0 - 4.4 pg/mL)Ferritin 15 - thus I started taking 200mg iron a day with vit c and away from dairy - 3 doses a day and ate red meat every night.25-OH-vitD3 40.50 (4.8 - 52.8 ng/mL) - I then started 5000IU's vit D3 a day with oilVit B12 943.9 (160 - 970 pg/mL) - I then started Jarrow B12 sublinguals 1000iu's a dayNo Free t4 or TSH done.Lab results 2 months ago (i.e. after 4 months of increasing isocort doses from 3-2-2-1, eventually ending up at 5-3-2-1, but still no stable temps - temps stabilised 2 weeks after these results ):Free T4 1.77 ng/dL (0.932-1.71)Free T3 3.2 (1.4 to 4.4)TSH 1.91 (0.27-4.2)Ferritin 53 Aldosterone 70 (10-160) - started licorice 2 tabs a day - but after 3 weeks it raised my BP, so I stopped.Potassium 4.2 (3.5 to 5.1) - started eating 2 bananas a daySodium 141 (136-151) - started a quarter teaspoon of sea salt twice a day, but it seemed to raise my BP, so I stopped.I tried adding salt in again after a week of licorice, but it still seemed to raise my BP.However, when I stopped licorice, my temps destabilised slightly, so I started it again a week ago (just 1 tab a day now, and my BP seems to be slightly higher, but holding, and my temps are now very stable again)Lab results yesterday (i.e. after around 6 weeks of stable temps (not counting the licorice episode!). I am taking 5-3-2-1 isocort plus 1 licorice pill in the mornings for my aldosterone.):S-iron(Fe) : 120 ( 50-170 ug/dL)TIBC : 316 (250-450 ug/dL)Ferritin : 97.6 (10.0 - 291.0 ng/dL) stopped iron for 7 days before testingFree T3 : 2.72 (1.4 - 4.40 pg/dL)TSH : 1.50 (0.27 - 4.2 uIU/mLFree T4 : 1.66 (0.932 - 1.71 ng/dL)Can anyone perhaps provide any explanation for my continually decreasing Free T3 number?? I am obviously building up RT3 in a bad way! But why? I have no idea! No wonder I have put on so much weight in the last few months! Anyhow, I started T3 today (as my temps are stable and ferritin is ok!) - 12.5mcg this morning, and haven't felt any thing wrong, so I'm going to take my next 12.5mcg in a couple hours. Thanks guys!Hayley
