Guest guest
OKAY I HAVE TO SHARE THIS because I'm overwhelmed. The whole time I've waited to get into see Blanchard who wasn't gonna give me enough SRT3 anyway, I should have asked my own alternative MD all along. Today I finally emailed him (God directed me I think) and he emailed me back. I am copy/posting our communication here. From Guy Pugh, MD Patient Gikas Sent Date Jan 25, 2008 7:39 AM Subject RE: referral to physician Message I understand what you're talking about and WITH RELUCTANCE am willing to try low-dose long-acting T3 to see if it will help your mood. Depending on who you read, you really don't have to evoke Methimazole (which is probably entirely out of your system by now, without residual effects) to account for low circulating T3 (and increased reverse T3). It is known that this happens with any sort of STRESS, including chronic or severe illness. (What's debated is whether this is an important phenomenon clinically and whether it should be fixed, but we don't need to debate that here.) Please specify a compounding pharmacy and I'll send over a prescription so we can see if this helps.
