Guest guest
Dear Olif, Have you had your adrenals checked often you can not take thyroid hormones unless the adrenals are supported. If not you may need a 24 hour saliva test done. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/recommended-labwork/ Go here and do the adrenal self test http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/adrenal-info/ Metabolic Scorecard -- fine tremors I have been having fine tremors for probably over a month now. I am getting concerned but don't know what to do about them or what the cause is. When they started, I was unknowingly taking too much thyroid hormone. I also had nervousness and more sweating. I stopped all thyroid hormone about 3-4 weeks ago. The nervousness/sweating has long been gone, but these tremors are still here. I will try to describe them the best I can, because I know there are different types. I see them when I extend my arms/hands. It isn't isolated to my hands though- I feel it in my entire body. In my legs they almost feel like muscle spasms. It feels like my nerves are " on " all the time, like the off switch " is broken. When I wear something dangling from my waist, like a loose belt, I can see the tremors in the belt. So it is definitely in my entire body. I feel it when I awaken in the middle of the night too. I feel it more intensely then, but I think this is because I am more relaxed and sensitive, not because they are actually worse then. I have no nervousness, insomnia, etc. It might be worse after I drink my green tea (caffeine) in the morning, but I am not sure. Andy says to try glycine on p. 128 of AI, but I have no idea what kind of tremors I am even having. I am also gluten free, which is mentioned. I don't have " course, jerky movements " with the tremors that Andy mentions on p.28 of AI. These are very fine tremors that I probably only notice myself, unless I point it out to someone. I am taking 800 IU vit. E, lots of B's (including active B6), about 3-4 g vit C, 600 mg magnesium/calcium each. I am not taking a lot of fish oil or flax, because I have been back and forth on whether or not these are good due to oxidative stress. I do take cod liver oil though, providing roughly 15,000 IU vit A and 1500 IU vit D. My doctor thought maybe there were issues with my dopamine (she didn't suggest high or low and I didn't ask), but this was a few weeks ago, before I quit the Armour. I wasn't quite as concerned then, because I had other symptoms of thyrotoxicosis. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated! -Olif [
Guest guest
: " Have you had your adrenals checked often you can not take thyroid hormones unless the adrenals are supported. " Yeah, I've been on HC- about 25 mg. I have even tried weaning off that, thinking too much would be causing these tremors. I am down to 7.5 mg and still having tremors. -Olif
Guest guest
Olif, I haven't been active in this group for a long time, but I happen to catch this message, and I seen your doctor mentioned " dopamine " . I don't know if he told you this, but the part of the brain that produces dopamine is what is damaged or not working properly in people who have Parkinson's Disease. I don't want to alarm you, but you may want to start researching that. And I can't promise you that I will be on much to respond, because my mother just passed away recently, but I wanted to point out this connection between tremors and low dopamine. Good luck. Guest guest
Olif, Sorry to tell you this too little HC causes tremors along with shakiness. How do you take it 3 or 4 times a day? Are you using supporting herbs and vitamins. You need 1,500 Pantothenic acid Some of that can be gotten naturally in Yerba Mate it has 196 active components, 26 vitamins, 15 amino acide. One serving the traditional way used all day of 2/3 of a mate supplies 750 mg of pantothenic acid If interested will send you links for information along with the best place to order it. Tell them sent you. It last a long time for one person little over 3 weeks. Cost around $2.00 a week with shipping. Have you tied adding Licorice solid extract only use if you do not have high blood pressure if it starts to rise just leave it off once a week then watch it very carefully.. If interested can send information on a group that can give you much more information as well as solutions. -- Re: fine tremors : " Have you had your adrenals checked often you can not take thyroid hormones unless the adrenals are supported. Guest guest
Thanks, . I really don't think this is related to my adrenals or my thyroid. I have the same tremors on 27.5 mg HC (spread 4-5 times daily) as I do on 7.5 mg. If I stress dose HC, the tremors don't go away either. It doesn't come on in between doses- it is constant. I am on pantothenic acid, C, active B-6, etc. I really think this is due to something else, but I don't know where to look. I guess I should look into having my neurotransmitters tested, and hope my doctor knows what tests to run after that. Maybe I will try some tyrosine (to raise dopamine) to see if that helps... I recently had biomeridian testing done, which showed both my adrenal and bladder nerve readings were high. The lady insisted it was due to a fall, and I did fall around the time I had started having the tremors. I didn't fall badly or land on my back. I just tripped and fell. I am not sure if the readings on the test are even related to my body tremors though. Thanks, Olif

Guest guest
Dear Olif, Could be low sodium or low aldosterone. Low sodium can cause a constant tremor that never stops. Try a salt water flush 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt in a glass of 16 ounces of water. For now use table salt if you do not have sea salt however if it works you will need to get sea salt as table salt is not good for the body. If it works for you it can be done several times a day. If this does not work you may need to see a doctor as there are many things that can cause tremors. Some people take a medication aldosterone to replace others choose to use sea salt and water. -- Re: fine tremors Thanks, . I really don't think this is related to my adrenals or my thyroid. Guest guest
: " Try a salt water flush 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt in a glass of 16 ounces of water. " I do this every morning but in oj. I will pay closer attention to see if the tremors seem different after the salt, but I don't think they do... I will make an appointment with my doctor soon to discuss it again with her. Hi Olif, At one point I started taking too much ALA and it co-incided with tremors. The would become especially marked when I drank caffeine (even green tea). I would very scared and thought I'd given myself Parkinsons. I stopped the ALA for a few rounds, then lowered the dose a lot and it went away. I have also heard that when thyroid levels rise they can cause you to become more sensitive to certain chemicals. Check www.drlowe.com I would lower or stop the ALA for a while. " Hi , Why do all the salt at once - could you not spread it throughout the day? This is for thyroid and adrenal issues, right? Should everyone be doing it with adrenal and thyroid problems? Thanks, Dean

I don't drink other caffeine. Lately I have been worried that I might have done something too and have been thinking Parkinson's! I will temporarily stop the ALA, stick with DMSA, and see what happens. I am glad to hear someone else has experienced this. Did you only notice it on round though? Mine is everyday, not just on round. Thanks! -Olif
