Guest guest
Over the last 2 years of being on cortisol I haven't noticed a deeply significant difference that I hoped I would. I still feel very fatigued in the am, and peak late day into the evening, unable to fall asleep until very late. I don't want to sound too negative, as I definitely have noticed some improvements. What has been significant to me, was that the only time I felt good (ie - normal, with adequate energy in the am and throughout) was when I stress-dosed. This was especially interesting, because stress-dosing always followed being sick or overly stressed. I don't know if I need an extra 10-20mgs of cortisol a day, or if the high dose at nighttime was what I really needed to help get me up in the morning. It's clear to me that my cortisol dips way too low during sleep and thus, makes waking up nearly impossible before 9am. I started yet another job and this time I had to start earlier than I have in my entire life - 8am, which means getting up at 6am, 6:30am at the latest. In anticipating, I stress-dosed the first night and low-and-behold I felt fine the entire day! I slowly decreased the dosage over the next few days and am now at 15mgs at nighttime, 10mg-6am, 5mg-9am, 5mg-12pm. Well, it's not quite perfect, but the one thing I can say is that I can usually fall asleep at 11pmish. But this may be beause I'm waking up SOOO early. I don't know. I'm going to try it for a few more weeks and then I may actually switch my thyroid meds to taking it all in the am to see if that helps. I wanted to know if others had tried such an experiment. I've heard of others switching their thyroid meds to all at once in the am with success and thought I'd ask others how they are doing as well. Val - I know you have the opposite problem that I have - you being lucky enough to have high am cortisol. What are your thoughts on this? Guest guest
Well I no longer have high AM cortisol but I did find that juggling the dose around has kept me feeling better than a static dose. Some of us NEED mroe at night t be able to function in the AM. I have always needed the night time dose, and it is the lastone I cna give up or lower. As to taking all my thyroid inthe AM this absolutely does nto wqork for me, but it might for you! We are all differnt. If I do nto have a bedtime dose of thyroid I cannot move in the AM. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
