Oh I got that inference but sadly this is why EMS in Texas and the nation

is in the state that it is in!

If folks in West Texas don't care this week when it is a Central Texas

issue why would Central Texas EMS folks care when it is a West Texas issue?

I've been told time and time again (publicly and privately, sometimes

nicely and well sometimes not so nicely) that no one cares about this problem or

that problem in say New Jersey or California since it isn't Texas EMS (and

vice versa to be fair). Nor do they care how those areas dealt with the

issues at hand.

In my observations since 1981 in this whole realm of emergency services

thing that we do I've often noticed that problems or issues that one area or

service has today will raise their ugly heads in another area or service in

the future or they have in the past.

Every time I sat in a classroom at say the National Fire Academy 20 or so

classes and such in my tenure)

and someone vented about an issue they were dealing with someone else in

the room from the opposite side of the Country seemed to have similar if not

identical types of situation class.

It seems to me that we all want help with these kinds of issues from

everyone when we have the problem but rarely wish to take the time to discuss it

or think it out when it's not our problem.

I've said it hundreds of times that EMS Stations and Firehouses are wheel

factories (as in constantly reinventing said proverbial wheels) and this is

exactly why that is the case.
