Guest guest
" I am not sure why Andy says one week per month. " Maybe because it can raise blood pressure? I just started taking it, but I am not sure that I notice anything from it. When did you take it? I am taking mine in the morning, since cortisol should be highest then. Should I try taking it mid afternoon as well, which is when my energy is typically lowest? Thanks, Olif

Well, licorice is supposed to be an adaptogen - I imagine that is *supposed* to work with blood pressure as well as many other processes. Reasonable caution is in order, though, especially for someone who has not tested their adrenal function to verify they have low cortisol and/or for someone who has a pre-existing high blood pressure or a condition that might lead to it - I would think they should certainly check blood pressure. And maybe anyone should when they are taking licorice. > I just started taking it, but I am not sure that I notice anything from it. When did you take it? When I took licorice, I generally did it late morning and late afternoon. I don't know if the time is that important for the general adaptogenic benefit (possibly you would want to avoid nighttime). Taking it according to your energy/symptom level may be helpful in terms of day to day comfort. --
