Both are legal. Some people who are more sensitive than others may have

to seek out the wild-caught. Others may do just fine on

farm-raised.

I prefer wild caught catfish -- better nutrition, better taste. But I'm

fine with quality farm-raised catfish.

I always try to buy wild salmon, as I don't want any antibiotics, additives, etc. Wild fish also have more Omega 3s.There's a fierce debate going on about salmon farming. Here's one group's take on it.

It is well known that wild caught salmon is better for you than farm raised, but are they both legal? There are times when you don't have a choice-like at a restaurant or visiting friends, and farm raised is less expensive. Farm raised salmon are given canthaxanthin in their feed, and I saw a brand at the supermarket that has color added ( who knows what that is? )Canthaxanthin is a carotenoid, and the fish eat it, not us, but still I am curious about what people think here.
