Guest guest
I wonder about other cultures too. France has the most amazing bread/pastry shops everywhere, while much of our bread supply here is processed. In older times bread was harvested and handmade by all. I'm not suggesting we all go out and grow/bake our own bread. I just wonder if the processing has something to to with the development of grain intolerance. Being on SCD in France would be tough since temptation is on every street corner! PJ > > " Things don't get much more wholesome than bread. Guest guest
PJ, A huge part of the problem is how grains are stock piled. Then they develop new strains of microscopic molds etc. Also, grains are stripped down (processed) and then refortified with synthetic minerals and vitamins in order for humans to get a balanced diet LOL. I think a lot of illnesses have to do with modern living and the choices we have made to have convenience in our lives. I was reading somewhere that back in the 50's canned food was so touted as being a miracle that people actually opted that over fresh food as they believed Madison Ave telling them it's healthier. Big marketing, agribusiness, GMO's.. Its a disaster. Jodi

Guest guest
Yep, of course. Not to mention the proliferation of the amount of processed grain and sugar we get in our diet. Guest guest
I often marvel at my in laws who are in their 90's ( thank G-d!) and their diet is not what is touted as healthy...plenty of gravy, butter, fried eggs, pancakes, and always desserts. What is interesting is that they were raising a large family on very little income and could never afford modern processed foods. My husband recalls that sodas and chips were only a very rare " treat " and they could not afford fast food. All their pies, cookies, etc were home baked. Even if Madison Ave was promoting a new product, they couldn't buy it. I had tried to email you offline, by changing the " to " field to your jodah235 address. Did you receive this? WOuld you mind emailing me directly at tanyakt@.... I don't want to bore everyone else with a back-and-forth on lyme disease complications, but I would like to pick your brain a little bit! thanks, tanya > > PJ, > > A huge part of the problem is how grains are stock piled.
