Hi,

I was a smoker for 11 years before my UC symptoms started rearing their ugly

heads. I had quite for at least 2 years, but occassionally smoked any way. The

last time I had a cigarrette was 4 years ago. Has anyone else experienced this

kind of craving? I really feel like it has something to do with detoxin.

Just a question. I am curious!

Well, there's a link between smoking and remission. Smoking helps

achieve remission

for some reason (marijuana too according to one study I read), so your

craving might

be the body suggesting methods of remission to you.

The only problem is that once you start, you can't quit without once

again getting

active disease back, so it's pretty much a two edged sword. (although

I've wondered

in the past whether LDN would help in that situation, so that you

could quit and

maintain a well modulated immune system - don't know.)

Over on Healing Crow there is one woman who had active disease for

decades,

really bad, and she finally decided she wanted her life back, even at

that price,

so now she smokes and has no more gut disease. But she is happy,

because

she is functioning - and I guess she is willing to live with the

consequences

of future problems.
