Guest guest
Dear SCD Experts and long-time SCDers, I found containers of macadamia nuts at my local grocer. The ingredients read: macadamia nuts, salt. The label also includes the message: " No oils were added during processing. " So far, so good. The contents *appear* to be legal. On the other hand, I've worried a bit, because I wonder whether the manufacturer can ensure that the salt adheres to the macadamia nuts without applying some kind of oil or other substance? Or can we assume that the natural oil in macadamia nuts helps the salt to " stick? " The nuts do feel slightly greasy, and the salt is certainly well coated on them. Has anyone else tried something similar (e.g. nuts, non-roasted, with salt as the only ingredient)? Do you believe it to be legal? Thanks in advance, Jill UC 2004 SCD 5/07 lialda, probiotics, vitamins, herbs (ginger, turmeric, oil of oregano)
