Hi nne

Yes the doctor seemed quite nice and knowledgeable, but was just kind of against everything I was seeking out. He said pt could actually make one with neuropathic pain worse, which I was bummed about because I thought perhaps it was my muscles causing these problems and that if I could get them to stop spasming, I could be well again. Secondly, he told me the new thought is that pn is caused by a virus and that its like getting struck with lightening, I thought wow would you figure. Anyway he said that nerve blocks and surgery are not an option for him, he thinks they are way to risky and could potentially effect other nerves, this is just what he told me, who knows?? I was really considering a nerve block and still may. He said he think meds are the way to go, and if you are symptom free for 6 months you can taper off them. He said if the mylan around the nerves is what is causing the problem that can heal and one can get off meds.

Im just so sick of all this right now. I mentioned the lorazepam to him and how great it works, he said its the class of drug that it works on the nervous system.

Carolyn,

I may cancel my appt. for a nerve block next week based on what your dr. said. I think he may be right. I don't want to add to my problems.
