Guest guest
-----Original Message----- I'm very interested in this. As most of you " old timers " know, I had a marked improvement in my liver function after two things happened. I stopped having invasive procedures that had caused significant damage in the past and I started taking SAM-e. These factors may have nothing to do with my improvement, but I'm not second guessing anything! Funny you posted this, after ’s post yesterday about combining UDCA & Fish Oil, I thought to myself, might as well add SAMe and Probiotics. I’m still in doubt about UDCA, but the add the other 3 (Fish oil, SAMe & Probiotics) together (and I agree 100% about nothing invasive), might give us something to really think about. Guest guest
i think we all know how I feel about the use of alternative medicines - The transplant Centre in London,Ontario where Mike had his transplant (almost three years ago...where did the time go?) - were very interested in the things he took, SAMe being one of them - Dr. McAlister talked to me personally and told me that everything we did helped Mike maintain his health to the level he did after having psc for approx 20 years. SAMe wasn't available in Canada for awhile but I see that it is now, of course post transplant we are pretty limited to your basic vitamins, fish oils etc. - but I would recommend the combination of alternative/conventional medicine in the fight against this disease, especially if you are diagnosed early. Mike wasn't diagnosed until he was 15 years into the disease.
