Guest guest
Listmates, Someone asked me (and I cannot find the eletter for some reason) if I knew of a way for someone to be trained long distance to become a dietician, and I asked on a dietician list and got several replies. If this was you who asked, will you tell me you got this message! Thanks! This is an excellent field, and some of you who are more homebound by being mom or being sick might find this a very productive way to spend your time and get a career that could work with the time in life while you are a busy mom! ======================== The only one I know of that I believe is good is at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. I went there to check out their on campus didactic program a few years ago, and I thought it was very good. The distance program is new since then, but I think they have incentive to have a good program. Here's more info: <http://www.unco.edu/ddp/>http://www.unco.edu/ddp/ ======================== There are many distance dietetic internships, but if she needs the bachelor's degree/didactic program, Kansas State has a complete program online. Here's the link to ADA's distance undergrad programs http://www.eatright.org/cps/rde/xchg/ada/hs.xsl/career_2192_ENU_HTML.htm#DISTED ========================== I actually graduated from UNC with my BA in dietetics. They've had the distance dietetic internship since at least before 2000. Several of my classmates completed it (I went to Texas A & M for mine). At the time, only 2 weeks on campus were required at the beginning of the internship, while the rest was on your own. You have to set up all of your own rotations wherever you are before you apply to the internship. As long as you got the minimum hours, you had a year to complete it whether you went part-time or full-time. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
