Guest guest
Do you know the reasoning behind a doctor telling you to use an asthma inhaler for pain? I'm an asthmatic (severe) since I was about 3 years old. I've been on numerous types of inhalers throughout my 31 years and nothing has helped pain. I would also be extremely concerned about using an asthma inhaler that does not have asthma or not for its intended purpose because of the risk of death with the acceleration of the heart rate. Just curious if the doc had an explanation for you on how this allegedly works? --------------------------------- Never miss a thing. Make Yahoo your homepage. Guest guest
I don't know why the doctor suggested the inhaler; but I do have one and I do have asthma. So maybe the doctor was thinking my pain was related to it somehow. I also get pleurisy a lot and several doctors have told me to use the inhaler for that. Maybe the steroid helps inflammation?? Guest guest
OH, one more thing. When I went to ER once for chest pain and they determined it was the pleurisy; they gave me breathing treatments over several hours and it did subside. Then they prescribed me the inhaler when I left. So there's something there... I just don't know what it is. Guest guest
I was wondering what kind of inhaler, is it albuterol or one of the cortisteriods, that may be the reason. I have had asthma for ever and have found that there are different inhalers for different things, you know the rescue inhaler is albuterol, then you have the ones like maxair, intal, advair, those are more cortisteroid inhalers, so it is possible that is why? Just wondering. Rise " Newbie to fibro, in Ga. Re: Angie~Asthma inhaler for pain? OH, one more thing.
