Guest guest
Molly, I sprained my toe in 2004 while trying to get up from the computer on a Sunday a.m. to answer the phone. Has nothing to do with my pelvic floor. I have not been holding my PF floor tightly all my life but if I have (the done so all my life part that is) it is due to a medical condition I have had since childhood that can't be fixed. My pain threshold was messed up by my endo and waiting too long to get diagnosed (finally got diagnosed in 1997). I know you are just trying to help and same with Chelle (her info on the laps will be useful to ladies on another list I'm on strictly for endo) and I thank you both but because of how well I know my body I know the order in which and how I need to get things done due to limitations. My pelvic floor muscles even if they are an issue (which they aren't at this time until I find out otherwise by the proper doctor) is not a top priority right now. But if you can explain how just cutting off a piece of skin from the labia minora would affect my pelvic floor that would be great because then that gives me a chance to do more research and ask my Pain Management doctor some more questions and also the physiatrist whenever I decide to go (still trying to research right now). Guest guest
Actually Kristi, any injury which can cause you to 'guard' the way you move (such as a sprained toe) can ultimately affect your pelvic floor muscles. For instance, to guard the toe, you turn in the foot, the foot begins to hurt, so you instinctively begin to walk on the outside of the foot, that begins to hurt the knee - you adjust again and now the hip hurts (or the inner thigh) and son on , and so now you are guarding the toe, the foot, the ankle the knee etc.etc etc. and ALL of these are moved/guided by major nerves and tendons travelling up the leg to the groin area.I know, I got into left sided severe vulvar pain and pelvic floor due to a broken 5th metatarsal on the left foot.DustyKristy Sokoloski wrote: Molly,I sprained my toe in 2004 while trying to get up from thecomputer on a Sunday a.m. to answer the phone.
