Guest guest
RT3 stands fro Reverse T3 which is an inactive thyrodi hormone that the > body makes when it cannot utilize T4 properly. I have two questions for you. 1) Does one treat Reverse T3 with HC? 2) Is the test a blood or a salivary test? Thanks again >
Guest guest
You treat high RT3 by taking T3 only in a TSH supressive dose. As RT3 is only made form T4 you need ot get T4 as low in your body as possible. The test for it is a blood test available here if you need ot irder it yourself. https://orders.directlabs.com/dl-locator/order_tests.aspx -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
Hi, I located a integrative doctor in California and have my nephew seeing him lately. My nephew has history of obsessive thoughts and severe anxiety and has been on four different drugs. I suspected he has adrenal/thyroid issue. Doctor did blood test by saying his thyroid is ok. I asked did he need to test his FT3. He said no and said he had no thyroid problem due to the test result and no need to test FT3. he had fasting blood test. I don't get it. In what case that doctor wants to check patient's FT3/FT4?????? Cortisol 5.8 ( ref. am cortisol 8-23 ug/dL) he said it is a little bit low T3 total 1.45 ref. 0.87-1.78 T4 Thyroxine Total 5.8 (ref. 4.6-11.1) TSH 1.10 (ref. 0.34-4.00) My nephew refused to see him again by saying doctor could not fix his problem. I am so disappointed and sad. I wish I could help him. He is on disability and could not go to school and could not work. He is 30 year old young man. I wonder I could self treat him by ordering some adrenal support. Is it safe to do that. I think by observing his symptoms, he is very much suffering adrenal exhaustion due to severe stress????. They have top quality stuff and are recommended by Dr Sherry . I use that plus sometimes I use magnesium citrate from http://www.puritans.com Comes in capsules that work pretty quickly. Guest guest
Most docs don't want to test FT3. If the cortisol is low on this blood test, it would be very helpful to get a salvia test from www.canaryclub.com to get his levels throughout the day. I've been told for years that my thyroid is all normal, but somehow I have cysts and nodules. He should also get tested for thyroid antibodies for Hashi's and Graves disease (autoimmunie disorders which affect the thyroid). Rie A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.
