Guest guest
acute blood loss from child delivery is called Shehans syndrome and it affects the pituitary your endo gave you the wrong test ------- Original Message ------- From : Rose Sent : 6/7/2010 6:20:41 PM To : RT3_T3 Cc : Subject : RE: VAL please help/ACTH My endo did an ACTH test and said I passed.Numbers were 17.0 baseline, 16.8 at 30 minutes, 20 at 60 minutes. She said because I hit the number 20 this was a pass.????? What do you think? I was off low dose steroids x 24 hrs prior to testing. Also, what are the telltale signs of adrenal issues?? I have severely low ferritin 12 and recently stopped my synthroid (normal labs, but RT3 at 33, Ratio was 7.6) This all started with the acute blood loss from child delivery. I wasn't able to utilize my synthroid afterwards and ended up really sick and I am no better x 14wks. I don't have a thyroid gland.thanks... Guest guest
" My endo did an ACTH test and said I passed. Numbers were 17.0 baseline, 16.8 at 30 minutes, 20 at 60 minutes. " Well being off steroids fo r24 hours will guarantee your adrenals wil nto respond. But this endo will kill people as this is NOT a pass. IN 30 minutes it shoudl DOUNLE and in 60 minutes preferably double again. The amount of ACTH they inject is WAY more than your body would produce to insure they see as much as your adrenals CAN produce. While I see her logic, that 20 isd a good AM level and oyu were able to reach it, you have NO reserves adn if in an emergency such as car crash or severe illness, no amount of your body;s ATCH would produce enough cortisol for you to survive the higher needs. -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/
