Oh Donna, that is so funny! you're a regular dr. doolittle!

I had a bird house a few years ago outside our kitchen sink

window that had a pair of english sparrows living there. the

next year they moved in again, but the something happened to

the female and the male kept hanging on the tiny window frame

rapping as though I took her. He did this for days on end so I

finally took the house down, so sad!

My outside birds

My American

Goldfinch is BACK!!!! First time I saw him was last

year... and I'd never ever seen one before that.

told me, then, that his mother always called

them "Wild Canaries".. and they do resemble a house

canary, except they aren't all yellow and I think

they are much prettier than a house canary because

of the sharp contrast of the black piping/striping

of their wings.

Just saw one of several pairs of Mourning Doves as

well.. hopefully all of them will be back and I'll

see all of them lining the fence in search of a

meal.

Have a NEW finch as well.. looks like it might be a

Cassin's Finch.. I had to go out and search the net

to identify him/her.. but with the Red head I would

think more him than her..

I have a bunch of different types of finches,

sparrows & sputzies. Some of the finches are

very impressive. I think my 2nd favorite type of

finch is the one or two with the dark black heads

with a white throat. The Goldfinch is my very

favorite.

Haven't seen Mr. or Mrs. Blue Jay yet, but we've

heard them. Mr. & Mrs. Cardinal stayed around

all winter. It seems that all the birdies are back

to the new bird feeder regularly now that they've

gotten used to it's red top. The old one was all

green.

I just hope that the woodpeckers don't come back,

because it seems their favorite meal is my roof! I'm

not real fond of the Grackles either. Extremely

beautiful bird, but they keep all the others away

from the feeder & the fence.

My squirrels are having breakfast now as well.. And

I'm pretty sure that I've seen all three of the

squirrels this morning too!

Now if I could only sit on the porch and have them

visit. When I lived in CT, I did have a few

squirrels that I swore knocked on the slider door to

get their daily helping of popcorn. They definitely

lined up and looked in the window, even when someone

was sitting at the dining room table!

Just had to share this morning!

You are like me Debbi. I love watching the birds. I fill my feeders every few days and that makes me have to go out of the house. hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
