These might help:

Also look at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Autism-Mercury/files/

file name " Viral Information and Resources.htm " .

My daughter and I have done the Virastop protocol and found it

helpful. Right now we're taking Virastop (actually Theramedix PRX),

OLE, Epicor, Russian Choice Immune and Cordyceps. I also take lysine.

My 86 lb daughter is up to 8 grams per day of Vit C in various

forms. We seem to be doing pretty well with avoiding other people's

viruses lately.

Yes, very helpful.

Do you take all of these all of the time or do you rotate?

Is OLE anti viral and anti fungal and is it ok to take it every day

for a long period of time?

Are there certain ones that you reserve for use when an infection

comes along?

Many thanks

TK - let me know if this is getting too off topic.

All the time. Other things I forgot to mention are vit A and vit D in

fairly high doses. My daughter was frankly low in vit D and I was

borderline low as of the end of 2006. We started taking lots of vit D

in January. That correlates to when we stopped getting sick

frequently. Of course, good thyroid and adrenal support are helpful,

too. I know you have trouble getting enough adrenal support.

Yes, and supposedly antibacterial, too. We have been taking OLE for

about 2 years now. When I tried to stop it (most recently a couple of

months ago), I felt like I had the flu. I certainly have wondered

whether staying on it so long was a good idea. While taking it and

the PRX, though, we have not been sick very often. Prior to that we

were caught everything came along and it lingered.

When we feel something coming on we:

1) take higher vit C. We usually do the extra with buffered C powder

dissolved in hot water. I'm not sure if that makes it more effective,

but it just seems very comforting.

2) double the PRX - our normal dose is 3 a day on an empty stomach

3) take 1.5 to 2 times the normal HC dose.

4) add astragalus. We used to rotate this in a week a month. It used

to make me feel great. Lately, I don't feel anything different from

it so I just keep it for when I'm getting sick.

5) add elderberry. I just reread the various posts, etc I sent you.

Maybe we should try to stay on elderberry long term. The last time I

tried it it felt great like astragalus used to.

If all that is not enough, I add in a Thorne product called Phytogen

www.thorne.com/media/SF724.pdf

The other thing that occurs to me is that we should probably try

higher than usual zinc when coming down with something.

Heading things off is sure the right thing to do. When both my

daughter and I get sick at the same time, life is truly miserable.

Is PRX a different thing or did they change the name again? Does it do

similar things as VS?

Your protocol is impressive! Glad it's working for you and your daughter.
