Guest guest
All, Just checking in. Been mostly just keeping up on everyone's posts, but wanted you to know that I am alive and kicking. After my last bout with a major flare of my Still's disease and release on 12/19/08 I have been on short term disability from work and getting PT and OT. PT and OT discharged me this week and of course left me their shopping list of tasks for me to continue. My diligent follow through, I believe, has really helped not only my lost muscle tone and fine motor skills, but also my lungs. Most of the time now I have been running 97-98% and even hit 99 for periods. This is all on room air. Doc appts have been many. Hematology, still anemic, but platelets ok. FDA and Insurance dudes have changed the rules (again) on procrit injections. New rules are the hemoglobin must be less than 10mg/dl. I was most recently at 10.4, but that can change overnight. In the big house it was at 8.1. Pulmodude says I am doing well and lungs clear. Of course, " any Resp. Infection, call immediately " . My Rheumatologist has cleared me to go back to work with restrictions. " your whole body took a major hit this time, so we want to proceed slowly " . I can do that. On the home front, my wife has a pituitary tumor. MRI tomorrow. Luckily those are rarely malignant and easily handled. But, a few prayers to keep her from worrying. Will let you know how work goes.
