My experience with him leads me to believe that there is no way to compensate or a short leg other than a shoe which will properly align a person for walking. Ora Ora, thanks for sharing your son's experience. I can totally understand how in your son's case a special shoe would be the only way to make the legs even. When Tom refers to a leg discrepancy he is talking about a dysfunctional problem with leg length (usually caused by muscle issues) rather than an anatomical one. My sacrum keeps slipping up higher on the right side of my pelvis, when it does, my leg length becomes uneven...it is only when my sacrum is realigned my legs end up even again. Does this make any sense? If the sacrum is uneven, then pressure can be put on the nerve roots of the spin and cause all kinds of problems. Potential V.pain could be one of them. Women are so much more susceptible to misalignment's. Our pelvis was designed to adapt to childbirth...and our ligaments are spread out further than a man's, etc. I hope this makes sense.... ~Chelle
Guest guest
I am sure that as well as being right-handed or left-handed, we are right-legged or left legged. That could easily lead to mis-alignment. My right buttock sits lower than the left but I am sure it is because when I stand, my legs are sometimes closer together than they need to be and as a result one buttock " rides up " and I need to pay attention and stand properly, particularly when exercising. so that won't happen. I am not sure whether it makes a difference in the length of my legs - never measured them. Also when sitting or standing I am inclined to place most of my weight on one or the other hip or foot and am sure that it could affect the tension involving my vulva. I do know that if I sit squarely on my seat with my weight evenly distributed I am more comfortable for a while - until I am urged to cross my legs. I rarely have pain in the vulva area any more but it is frequently related to tension.
