Weird Question about Oxalates

Hi,I went to see a Dr. Melmed last week here in Colorado. He was a bit old school and was a strong believer in the oxalate diet. I think that is fine, but the part that irked me was that the articles and information he gave me was from 1997! Anyways, I have begun to rethink this whole oxalate thing. I was pretty sure that it isn't a factor, at all, because I tried going on this diet 5 years ago and didn't see immediate relief, although I did have a completely pain-free period after doing this (I quickly went back to a regular diet after the pain went away and was fine). The reason I am doubting this is because I see these brown 'stones' on my dilator and in my sitz bath. They are very small, but are always there. Are they oxalates? Are they visible to the naked eye?

Sorry for the very graphic message. I searched in the archives and didn't see anything about these 'stones'. I would love any ideas.Sheila A.
