Guest guest
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/21/dining/21sugar.html?pagewanted=1 & _r=3 Interesting article, that HFCS might be on its way out. Still, for us SCDers, sugar of any stripe is not good. But for general health, I can't help but be glad it's falling behind. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
Thanks Marilyn for sharing the article with us. After reading it, I just had to write to the paper. I believe that the latest "push" (besides the whole obesity issue) for eliminating HFCS stems from the recent studies in January that showed mercury in many of these products. I personally know of many moms that are reading every label and not buying products with HFCS (SAD diet folks) because of this alone! I will not buy anything for my non-SCDers that has this either. I think the manufacturers are not selling as much as they did before and are now beginning to revert back to using sugar to increase sales.
