M son was born with one leg shorter than the other. We were told that when he

was older they could stop the growth of the longer leg until the short one

caught up. However they waited too long and the short one never caught up.

He compensated when he was younger by walking on tiptoe but and that deformed

his foot. Later he wore a built-up shoe.

My experience with him leads me to believe that there is no way to compensate

for a short leg other than a shoe which will properly align a person for

walking.
