He LIKES to go? Wow. I guess if you go enough, it becomes sort of routine.

That's probably a good idea.

Yeah, I get notes about the language. :(

Heck, now it's even on the IEP. Lucky me.

You know n does this choking thing from time to time. However I have

noticed that he does it most frequently with inanimate objects - - he holds

them close to his face in a death grip and shakes them like he's throttling

it while yelling " DO! DO! DO! DO! " It was weird. Then one day it hit me,

it is simply a visual stim, not an agressive urge.

Just a thought,

I never noticed doing this to objects, usually people when he

wants to hug them. The teacher wrote up notes about it for weeks,

which I never saw at home until he jumped on my MIL in what seemed

to be an affectionate way. He is usaully smiling when he does this

and he doesnt realize he is hurting anyone. He also jumps on me when

he when he wants to be held and I had to explain to him that he is

way too heavy for this. He is also aggressive, but, he punches and

pulls hair when its aggression mode, then he is very vicious.

I see n isnt diagnosed yet, I think everyone now can tell way

before they take their kid to the doctor. There is more known about

it than even 5 years ago when my kid was diagnosed.

Thanks Sue! I remember your sons being thin, its good they also have

the height, unfortunately, is growing wider faster than he is

taller at this point. I am lucky with the school though they have

been helpful. Hope things have been well for you too.

Yes, I'm sure you're right. When n was younger we held onto hope that

he was just a talk-talker. Most in our family still insist that this is the

case. But, well, a mother knows. n is fairly high functioning, and in

the right controlled environment, can come off as NT, but I'm fairly certain

that when we see the dev ped in October that he will be dx'd. Thankfully

there is more information and understanding than there used to be.

I too was experiencing low amniotic fluid. They told me to really increase my

fluids and stay off of my feet.

Annette Levitt

WLS 9-12-03

EDD 11-27-03 ( Alan -- yep finally found out its a boy!!!)

Update

Ok I wanted to give everyone an update I went for my 16 week

ultrasound

Baby A is a girl

Baby B is a boy

Baby C could not see

Baby A & B are measuring great and have heartbeats at 154

Baby C has low amniotic fluid and has a heartbeat of 148. The doctor

does not know if Baby C will make it.

Does anyone know anything about low fluid and could this have

anything to do with my RNY surgery. I ask the Peri and he doesn't

know and had a real " I don't care attutide " He said if Baby C doesn't

make it you still have two.

I don't think it has anything to do with wls... a friend of mine had low

amniotic fluid with her third child... she just had to make sure she drank

more and kept her activities to a minimum for the remainder of her

pregnancy. She actually delivered two weeks late, too!

Congrats on a & b and don't give up on c!!

You know, , I would look around if I were you. It just seems too

care-less of a thought coming from a baby doc... too insensitive... He

probably meant well, but that insensitivity may come out in other ways you

don't need later on... good luck finding a new ob!

I feel bad to hear about Tom's situation. I had started to wonder

about him like I am sure many others did that were aware of his

history. It is clear to me from the care and support in our site's

messages that this is not just a cheerleading group. Maybe all we can

offer is to lend an understanding ear and commiserate, but I would

urge Tom to tell us his feelings about his painful experience. Who

could better empathize with him than our group?

But for the grace of god...

Mandy, Oh, honey, just forget that idiot doctor, and call and insist that you see or speak with the

Rheumatologist who knows your case. Get assertive, and tell the people who make the appointments

that you cannot wait that long for help. And, don't apologize for venting to US, honey, that's why

we're here. We have all been where you are in the process of living with this disease, and we have all

run into people who should never have passed the medical board exams. Instead of Hippocratic

Oath, I think they took the Hypocrit Oath. You rest up, believe in yourself and in what your body is

telling you. Ignore the ignorant, and keep pushing to get into the Rheumy's office sooner. We love

you, honey, and we're here when you need us. Loving hugs, MM
