Guest guest
you missed the fun part - I think I mentioned there was fires in the county and the mountains this week - high winds - the winds kept waking me up at night - just enough I would wake up and realize it was wind and go back to sleep well I had a hard nap yesterday - the last I remember is 2 o'clock - then at 4 o'clock I woke up to the smell of smoke and it was strong I got up and looked - nothing so I got the local channel - the fire was coming in from the west and the had evaced from Cache to 82nd street - we live off of 67th street - the fire was north of Cache road and south bad in Texas too I called Ellen and she filled me in - she has a computer but no tv at the shop - she told me that Walters one town south of her on the inner state had no power - Goodyear Tire Plant had been evaced and the guys that worked there had helped evac horses east - family of a friend called in to say they were out and the horses were out by the time I turned the TV on they said the ones that start the plant up go in at 5 pm and secone shift at 7 pm kids at Cache School and Lawton Christian School in Pecan Valley were kept at the schools on the west side until the evac order was provisionally lifted so parents could get there kids the east side of town was in the same shape called me when she got home from school - was on his Senior trip to OKC on a school bus between Elgin just north of us and OKC - they had closed it all the way to outside of Tulsa - her husband was hung up at SW hospital in PT - south of me - I don't know when they let the hospital loose the winds were too high to get choppers up for anything - water buckets or evac - Fort Sill gets a lot of practice in the mountains with idiot hikers getting lost or hung up somewhere Ellen's son let me know that the dogs were okay - with 4 big guys and 3 minis the smoke would have freaked them out - add 2 cats ... poor Harry the temps, the wind, and everything is down this morning - it was freezing about 3 am - I have been in a flare for 2 weeks and just worn out - I have to cut the newspaper into doilies friends that live out of town need to know was special - there was always room at the inn for me - he was always good to my boys - even after the divorce from hell - that irritated my ex - his problem the last time I was up there was 4th of July 2002 - I drove all night and got in for breakfast - Mom fixed my tea for me - half way to my mounth I froze - I was looking at the squirrels on the back patio - my mouth dropped - Mom started laughing - I looked at her for an explanation - "Tom" was 's wild turkey - he expected breakfact of corn on the patio outside the kitchen ever morning - very big turkey one fall I was up for a fast week end - 14 hour drive either way - leave Friday night and get in for breakfast and leave Sunday morning to be home for work on Monday - we were walking in the back 40 acres - I was looking at some of the plants - Mom said - "Mama that's not polite you could have introduced the babt." - I turned around and 20 feet away was a deer and a fawn - all I could was laugh and roll my eyes. they fed 30 + wild turkey and about that or more in deer not counting squirrels and birds every years - feed was delivered in 55 gallon drums
