Guest guest
Lou -- It is wonderful to hear you being so upbeat and happy. That is truly good news. Hope you have a stress-free and lovely day. B Barbara McD IPF, Sept 08 Beautiful Western NC Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 Subject: Want to say one more thing about Hospice.............................To: Breathe-Support Date: Saturday, January 31, 2009, 10:09 AM Of course, I am very new to this Hospice care, starting day before yesterday, but they move faster to take things in hand that you need than anything I have ever seen before. They are a very caring business and want you to have everything you need to make you the most comfortable you could ever be. That is their priority. slept on the couch next to my hospice bed which is very comfortable. It has controls on it like a hospital bed. But doesn't actually take up so much room. The sides pull up if you like and it has a control "remote" type thing too. We all had a very restful night and feel good today. I am about to take my bath now, is going to help me which will feel comforting.Gave a large natural hide chew bone so she will be totally happy for the whole day and then some. haThank you ALL for your emails and notes from the board. It means so much as i know you are all struggling too.Just want to say don't ever be afraid to call the Hospice in your area for help. It is wonderful to know that when i got up this morning that I did not have any dr.s appt to get ready for, no tanks to fill, Earl off to work on time, being with MY GINA all day again today, going to watch OLD movies.PLEASE DO yourselves a big favor by remembering what I said about Hospice. I asked Dr. Haddad, pulmo, last night when he was here if he thought I did the right thing and he said, "Oh, yes". I feel so relaxed today knowing I don't have to go anywhere. I feel so enlighhtened by your support, love and prayers, and I will ponder them all in my heart, always. The relief I feel inside is unexplainable knowing Hospice is here for me.Tomorrow the nurse who will be assisting me through this is coming and we will get acquainted and get to know each other. The Hospice Social Worker told me yesterday she is fantastic. So off to the shower now. Hope you all have a great day.Love, Lou
Guest guest
HI Lou, I am so glad you feel better this morning. Your hospice arrangements will only continue to lighten your load so that you may spend your time enjoying your family etc. Now instead of worrying " what " is happening, your hospice nurse will be right there and she can tell you what is happening. No more chasing doctors down by phone and running around to get this test and that test. Hospice nurses are well trained and will spot things immediately. In addition to the nurse, take advantage of the CSA's and sitters. They will be a blessing. My mother loved her nurse as did we. We had complete faith in her abilities and she was always up front about what was happening and what we needed. Any comfort item that you think will be of help, ask for it----they will act immediately to get it for you. I'm wishing you and your family peace. Guest guest
Hi Lou As everyone on the board, filled with many different emotions. Knowing what hospice truely means " Better Quality of Life " i am so happy you have called them, if and when you don't need them they gladly go away.. And sometimes that does happen. Sorry, the revatio didn't do the trick. All my hugs and prayers, May the LORD keep a hedge of protection around you and the family, and HE shall meet all your needs. I always appreciate your posts, love and caring thoughts. patti, nj, ipf 7'06, raynauds, scleroderma, PH 2/06 > > Of course, I am very new to this Hospice care, starting day before > yesterday, but they move faster to take things in hand that you need > than anything I have ever seen before. > > They are a very caring business and want you to have everything you > need to make you the most comfortable you could ever be.
